Technical Product Manager Lignin
About the role
Would you like to help shape the future of bio-based products?
At Södra Bioproducts, you will have a unique opportunity to combine technology, business, and customer development in a role where you will help create the sustainable solutions of tomorrow. We are now looking for a Technical Product Manager with a focus on lignin, a key product in our ambition to develop renewable alternatives to fossil-based materials.
As we build the bioproducts business of the future, we are embarking on an exciting journey, with our lignin production set to start in 2027. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that our products meet market needs while contributing to Södra’s long-term profitable growth.
What you´ll be working with at Södra
As Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for the product portfolio and act as the natural link between customers, sales, production, and development. You will ensure that our products are developed and delivered in line with both customer needs and Södra’s business objectives.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Taking responsibility for the lignin product area, with the opportunity to expand into other bioproducts over time.
Working closely with customers to understand their needs and translate them into product requirements and solutions.
Participating in customer discussions and negotiations together with the responsible sales representatives.
Acting as the key interface between our customers’ operations and our production units.
Driving customer projects and development initiatives that create added value.
Coordinating and leading product forums and contributing to innovation and development activities.
Ensuring the right product, quality, and volume in line with market demand.
The role involves extensive collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders and is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, business, and relationships.
This is a full-time, permanent position. The location will be agreed upon with the successful candidate.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with experience in lignin who is excited about developing an area with significant future potential. You may currently be working within product development, business development, the process industry, or technical sales.
To succeed in this role, we believe you have:
Experience working with lignin, either from a commercial or development perspective.
A good understanding of how a kraft pulp mill operates.
Experience working closely with customers and building long-term relationships.
The ability to drive projects and take initiatives from idea through to implementation.
Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
A willingness and ambition to learn Swedish within your first year.
A valid driving licence.
You are curious, innovative, and proactive. You enjoy exploring new opportunities and are comfortable taking ownership even when the path forward is not fully defined.
At the same time, you have a natural ability to build trust. You communicate confidently with people from different backgrounds and areas of expertise and enjoy acting as an ambassador for both the product and the business.
We believe you will thrive in an environment where collaboration, development, and continuous learning are a natural part of everyday work.
A PhD in a relevant field is considered an advantage, but it is not a requirement.
We know that experience and expertise come in many different forms, and that few candidates will meet every requirement. If you recognize yourself in this role and are inspired by the opportunity to help develop the sustainable materials of the future, we would love to hear from you!
